Actor

Michael Gukas Headshot 5.jpg

Classically trained Michael has played roles such as Macbeth, Henry V and Richard iii, additionally taking on more contemporary figures such as Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol, dir. Séan Aydon and John Barker in The Angry Brigade, dir. Charlie Kenber.

Post his intensive voice and movement training with the likes of Barbara Houseman, Anne-marie Speed, Amanda Fairclough, and Mixalis Aristidou, Michael is centred, malleable and poised in both voice and body. This coupled with his professional stage-combat qualifications in a variety of weapons and styles enhances his range and physical prowess.

Inspired by revolutionaries of the past and galvanized by carrying the torch of future change, Michael is proud to have worked on several topical and status quo challenging roles, such as Ira Aldridge, the African-American Shakespearean Actor in the play Red Velvet, dir. Lakesha Arie-Angelo, as well as appearing in a critical BBC Film, covering racial abuse in the 1980's and 90's within Chelsea FC.

This passion and love for creating also inspired him to co-write and perform in the play ‘The Cost of Freedom’, set in 1853 South America, with his collective Grapevine Theatre Company.

A talented performer, singer, writer and creator Michael looks to utilise his gifts to tell and produce stories that touch people and bring about positive change.
